Spring is here 🌸, and we are ready for Q2! We’ve had a strong start to the year, and thank you for being part of the momentum. Here's a recap of our Q1:
Released the fourth edition of our Proptech in Canada report
Hosted two events in Toronto and one each in Vancouver, Montreal, and Calgary
Announced Toronto Proptech LaunchPad - a new program for early stage founders

✍🏻 Programs for founders

Toronto Proptech LaunchPad (May to June, Toronto)
Supported by the City of Toronto, this program is designed for early-stage proptech entrepreneurs with an MVP or early product in Toronto. Over two months, participants will gain access to in-person workshops, mentorship, a networking dinner and social — all designed to provide the resources and connections needed to launch and grow a proptech business.
The deadline for applications is April 10, 2025.

Proptech Conference Subsidy 2025
Back by popular demand! Apply to receive travel subsidy to help Canadian proptech companies attend one of the following international conferences this year:
Proptech Connect — London, UK | September 3–4
Blueprint — Las Vegas, US | September 16–18
NMHC OPTech — Las Vegas, US | November 17–19
Selected companies will receive up to 50% of eligible costs for one attendee per company, including airfare, per diem (hotel and meals), conference ticket, and ground transportation to and from the airports. Estimated savings of CA$2,000.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and will close once all spots are filled.
Growth Summit (Mid July, Toronto)
Back by popular demand! This private dinner and half-day in-person conference is designed for ~30 growth-stage founders (Pre-Seed to Series A). Expect candid conversations with industry leaders, customers, and seasoned founders, all focused on the sales and growth playbook—tailored specifically for real estate. Registrations will be opening soon!

💰 Who Raised Capital
🇨🇦 dcbel: Canada Growth Fund has invested $40 million of a $55 million financing in the Montreal-based smart home energy platform specializing in bidirectional EV charging integrated with home energy management.
🇨🇦 Augmenta: the Toronto-based company has secured an additional $10 million USD in seed funding led by Prelude Ventures, with participation from Montage Ventures. This brings its total funding to $25.6 million, reinforcing its mission to transform the construction industry with generative AI.
🇨🇦 Ownright: the Toronto-based proptech startup raised C$4.5 million in seed funding, led by Alate Partners and Relay Ventures. With over 600, five-star Google reviews, the platform aims to help streamline and close residential real estate transactions in Ontario.
🇺🇸 Mr Cooper x Rocket: Rocket Mortgage is expanding its reach further, after the highly covered Redfin acquisition earlier in the month. They have now announced a with a $9.4 billion acquisition of Mr. Cooper Group, the largest mortgage servicer in the U.S. This deal would make the combined company responsible for servicing about one in every six U.S. mortgages, marking one of the industry's largest acquisitions.
🇺🇸 Sundyne x Honeywell: Honeywell will buy pump-maker Sundyne from private-equity firm Warburg Pincus for $2.16 billion in cash.
🇦🇺 & 🇺🇸 Domain x CoStar: the Australian company’s shareholders have voted in favour of a $1.76 billion takeover offer from CoStar.
🇺🇸 Multiply Mortgage: a startup offering employees 1:1 mortgage advisor sessions, home purchase education, and mortgage rate discounts has raised a $23.5 million Series A led by Kleiner Perkins.
🇺🇸 257: a NYC-based software and AI company focused on the residential energy market, has raised $9.2 million in seed funding, led by F2 Venture Capital.
🇺🇸 Occuspace: Westlake Village-based proptech startup has raised $6 million in Series A funding to expand its space occupancy measurement technology. The round was led by Lewis & Clark Ventures, with participation from Okapi Ventures, Cove Fund, Hamilton Ventures, and Shadow Ventures.
🇺🇸 ResiQuant: San Francisco-based company raised a $4 million seed round led by LDV Capital, with participation from Foothill Ventures, Pear VC, Alumni Ventures, and strategic angels. The company uses AI-driven structural assessments to help property insurers better manage catastrophe risks.
